PDA recognizes the challenges that companies face with respect to fully understanding the logical steps of the Quality by Design (QbD) process and its successful execution. We will dedicate to this topics a PDA Global QbD conference and exhibition on 7-8 October, 2008 in Frankfurt/Offenbach, Germany.

This conference will focus on sessions addressing the concepts of modern QbD approaches as well as novel technologies to gain fundamental process understanding from a practical point of view. To deliver practical information, case studies by acknowledged experts from industry and regulatory bodies will be presented. The conference agenda will follow the natural flow in developing a QbD strategy and focus on the following applications:

* Risk assessment
* Determination of critical parameters
* Design of experiment
* Multivariate statistical analysis / Chemometrics
* Definition of design space
* Control strategy

To reflect all facets of this, the contents and topics will address issues faced by already marketed products that undergo continuous improvement leading to variations and changes as well as projects in development. Finally, it will be illustrated what registration strategies could be successful through presentations by Regulatory Agencies and industry leaders.

The conference is designed to be interactive and to leave ample space for the delegates to not only network amongst themselves but also for intense discussions with the speakers and other distinguished experts.
