The conference will feature presentations and panel discussions of 12-15 invited or competitively selected international papers on market microstructure and regulation (including perhaps a few papers specifically on India). The conference is being sponsored, among others, by ICICI Bank, a leading bank in India. It targets an audience of leading business leaders, regulators, and scholars in the area of market microstructure and regulation. ICICI has also sponsored Best Paper Award(s).

Professor Robert Engle, the winner of the 2003 Nobel Prizefor Economics, has kindly agreed to deliver the keynote address at the conference. The program committee for the conference is chaired by Pradeep Yadav (Oklahoma, Lancaster) and includes Ravi Anshuman (IIM Bangalore), Hank Bessembinder (Utah), Tarun Chordia (Emory), Terry Hendershott (UC Berkeley), Marc Lipson (Darden, Virginia), Narayan Naik (London Business School), Paul Schultz (Notre Dame), Marti Subrahmanyam (New York University), and S. Viswanathan (Duke).
