Having seen that Renewable Energy Technologies, RETs, are available and abundant in Africa, there is the need to create opportunities for private-public sector partnerships to make the deployment and harnessing of these RETs a reality.

Theme
The theme of IREC 2008 is Exploiting Renewable Energy Opportunities in Africa. It seeks largely, to build bridges between all Renewable Energy stakeholders in Africa, and the financial institutions which could help accelerate the large scale and equitable deployment of RE in the continent.
