Animal Vetex: International Veterinary Fair
Apr 6, 2008 - Apr 10, 2008,
Exhibition Centre Brno, Brno, Czech Republic

Veterinary Congress is devoted to the legislation of medicines

he Brno Congress will be attended by general practitioners up to renowned authorities in the field, not only from the Czech Republic, but also from abroad. It will be an enormous opportunity for a discussion on postgraduate studies, organizers expect a participation of 300 veterinarians, representatives of chambers, firms, but also local veterinarians, employees of state administration and representatives of agricultural enterprises. Slovak veterinarians are greatly interested in the topic; the Act of Medicines has been in force in Slovakia.

A registration of medicaments is of importance for the Czech Republic as it will be almost no more able to approve a medicine on which the other EU countries will not agree. In brief – equal conditions and a unified approach to the registration of medicines shall be in effect. In Brno also a reasonable economy in medicaments, reduced administration of antibiotics to farm animals and prevention limiting medicine administration will be discussed. The Congress is therefore in the limelight of the Federation of Veterinarians of Europe (FVE) in Brussels which is the Head Office of all EU veterinarians. President of FVE Walter Winding has promised to attend the Congress. Also the Ambassadress of the Czech Republic to Brussels Mrs. Milena Vicenová should come to Brno. Not even our neighbours from Poland, Austria, Germany, professionals from Lithuania and Latvia and from other countries will be missing. Also veterinarians from the new EU countries, i.e. Bulgaria and Romania, will take part in the Congress. They will be able to come thanks to the Brussels organization Taiex which settles a part of their expenses. The Congress will no more have farm animals’ therapy, neither therapeutic interventions on the program.
