Second Workshop on Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks

‘How will Arctic observing and data and information management activities be coordinated and sustained over the long-term?’ The following sessions will take place over 3 days:

* Operational Observing (met agencies, public health agencies, etc)
* New and Emerging Technologies (unmanned vehicles, sensors, etc)
* Integration Across Networks - Observations and Modeling - Data Management

Attendance is open to all representatives of organizations with an interest in sustained Arctic observations. The number of participants will be limited to approximately 200. Speakers will be selected by invitation, however contributions from all participants are welcomed as posters. Abstracts from invited and contributing authors will form part of the workshop documentation.

2008 Global Marine Coatings Forum

The New Dietetic Curriculum will be launched at the Forum which will also provide an exciting opportunity to consider the implications for all those concerned, especially Placement Educators and University staff.
One consideration in developing the new curriculum has been the variety of working situations for which dietetic students must be prepared. However the NHS, which continues to be a major employer of dietitians, is itself undergoing changes which have implications for healthcare education. How will the New Curriculum meet this changing scene?

Following presentations from keynote speakers, workshop groups will consider the implications for different stakeholders; local delivery; supporting trainers and students. In a second workshop participants will have the opportunity to address the impact on skills development to deliver the curriculum, the relationship between HEIs and Placement educators and quality assurance of programmes based on the New Curriculum.
