How to Increase Job Satisfaction
Apr 23, 2008 - Apr 24, 2008,
JW Marriot Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Happy employees means productive employees but it is a mystery why so many companies are not employing the right efforts to make their people happy, and thereby getting their performance.

Perhaps happiness is not a business word, or one that is difficult to implement as a strategy. Truth is, employee happiness has become a business issue, and is easier to explain when expressed as job satisfaction. The result of job satisfaction (as indicated in organizational health or climate or culture) is positive feelings and impetus to achieve. Now, is this not the very thing a company desires for? However explaining job satisfaction can still be a challenge as there seem to be so many versions, which lead to the current confusion. This is not surprising because in reality, job satisfaction has many elements (more than 10!), thus making it a challenge to be explained in full.

Structured Credit Products and CDO's
Apr 23, 2008 - Apr 24, 2008,
Gallagher Estate, Midrand Johannesburg, Gauteng South Africa 1685

Overview of the Workshop:

The global credit derivatives marketplace has grown at a dramatic rate in recent years - trading volumes multiplying and new products evolving constantly. With trading volumes now substantially outstripping those of the underlying cash bond markets, the credit derivatives market has far reaching implications - impacting the activities of banks, hedge funds and other investment institutions, as well as having broader consequences for capital markets generally.

There remain concerns however with respect to a number of related aspects of this relatively new marketplace, namely operational and legal risks, and fears over the growing complexity of products and the leveraged risks implicit in some of the emerging 2nd generation products. It is therefore critical that market participants fully understand the pricing and risk characteristics of all credit derivative products, keep abreast of new developments in instruments, market practices, legal and regulatory developments.

This workshop programme provides participants with a comprehensive examination of credit derivative instruments - key products, structures and mechanics - and their role in hedging, credit trading strategies and credit portfolio management. Particular focus is placed on applications within the capital markets i.e. the application of credit derivatives in the synthetic re-structuring of credit risk behaviour, for hedging, trading and arbitrage exploitation purposes. Single name CDS, basket (FTD), index swaps, and a number of 2nd generation products (CMDS, FTD, swaptions) and structured credit products (single tranche CDOs ) are all analysed in depth, their various benefits and applications highlighted, their pricing and risk characteristics rigorously evaluated.

At the end of this course participants will be able to:

• Understand the credit derivatives market and key products
• Analyse pricing and valuation of credit derivatives
• Understand the relationship between asset swap and CDS pricing
• Identify the benefits and risks of credit derivatives
• Explain portfolio management uses of credit derivatives
• Understand structural credit models and their practical implications
• Recognise the correlation between credit and equity markets
• Evaluate the pricing and valuation of 1st and 2nd generation credit derivative instruments
• Understanding the key benefits of synthetic securitisation (CDOs)
• Explain tranched credit products; key pricing drivers and risk characteristics
• Interpret investment and trading strategies for structured credit products
